Basic Life Support (BLS) education and training are crucial because cardiac arrest is an emergency that can cause death within minutes, while the residents of Osi Island Resetlement Hamlet have limited access to healthcare facilities and limited knowledge regarding initial treatment. This community service program was implemented by Pattimura University Community Service Program students in collaboration with healthcare workers through lectures and hands-on practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques on infant, child, and adult mannequins. Sixty-eight participants enthusiastically participated in the program, and observations showed an increase in participants' ability to recognize signs of cardiac arrest and perform basic BLS steps, including checking response, opening the airway, and performing chest compressions according to guidelines. This activity demonstrates that community-based BLS training effectively increases community preparedness in dealing with emergencies.
