Archiving Policy
Journal of Statistics and Data Analytics
Archiving Policy
Archiving Summary: Journal of Statistics and Data Analytics (JSDA) is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and maintaining long-term access to articles, metadata, and publication records. The journal seeks to ensure that published research remains accessible even in the event of technical disruption, website migration, platform changes, or other circumstances that may affect the journal's primary website.
A. PURPOSE OF ARCHIVING
The purpose of the JSDA Archiving Policy is to support the long-term preservation and continued availability of the journal's scholarly record. Archiving activities are intended to protect:
- published articles;
- article metadata;
- issue and volume information;
- bibliographic information;
- supplementary files where applicable;
- editorial publication records where appropriate;
- other digital materials necessary to maintain the scholarly record.
B. DIGITAL PRESERVATION
JSDA maintains its publication through a digital journal management and publishing platform. The journal seeks to preserve published content through appropriate server management, data backup, file preservation, metadata maintenance, and digital publishing procedures. Preservation practices may be updated as the journal's technical infrastructure and publishing requirements develop.
C. BACKUP PROCEDURES
The journal and publisher seek to maintain backup copies of essential journal data to reduce the risk of permanent data loss. Backup activities may include preservation of:
| Published article files | Article and issue metadata |
| Journal database records | Journal configuration data |
| Uploaded supplementary materials | Publication-related digital files |
D. PRESERVATION OF THE SCHOLARLY RECORD
JSDA considers published articles part of the permanent scholarly record. Once formally published, articles should remain accessible and should not ordinarily be removed from the journal website without appropriate scholarly, ethical, legal, privacy, or safety justification. Where corrections, retractions, or other post-publication actions occur, the journal seeks to preserve the publication history transparently.
E. PRESERVATION FORMATS
Published articles may be preserved in commonly used scholarly and digital publication formats, including PDF and other supported formats made available through the journal platform. The journal may adopt additional preservation-friendly formats as its technical infrastructure develops.
F. METADATA PRESERVATION
Preservation of article metadata is an important component of long-term scholarly accessibility. Metadata may include:
- article title;
- author names and affiliations;
- abstract;
- keywords;
- volume and issue;
- publication date;
- references;
- persistent identifiers where available;
- licensing information;
- other relevant bibliographic information.
G. METADATA HARVESTING AND INTEROPERABILITY
JSDA uses a journal publishing platform that supports structured metadata and scholarly interoperability. Where enabled and applicable, metadata may be made available for harvesting by academic discovery systems, repositories, library services, and other scholarly infrastructures. This contributes to the continued discoverability of published articles beyond the journal's primary website.
H. AUTHOR SELF-ARCHIVING
Authors are permitted to archive and share their published JSDA articles in accordance with the journal's Copyright and License Policy and the applicable Creative Commons license. Authors may deposit the published version in appropriate locations such as:
- institutional repositories;
- subject repositories;
- personal academic websites;
- university repositories;
- appropriate scholarly networking platforms.
The archived version should identify Journal of Statistics and Data Analytics as the source of first publication and provide a link to the journal version where available.
I. INSTITUTIONAL AND EXTERNAL REPOSITORIES
The journal supports the responsible preservation and dissemination of published scholarship through institutional and subject-based repositories. Repository copies should preserve accurate citation information, authorship, licensing conditions, and links to the original publication where appropriate.
J. EXTERNAL DIGITAL PRESERVATION SYSTEMS
JSDA may participate in external digital preservation systems or scholarly preservation networks as the journal's technical and institutional infrastructure develops. Any specific preservation service, such as a national, institutional, or international preservation network, will be identified on the journal website only after participation has been formally established and verified.
K. PLATFORM MIGRATION
If JSDA migrates to a different publishing platform, server, domain, or technical infrastructure, reasonable efforts will be made to preserve and transfer:
- published articles;
- issue archives;
- article metadata;
- bibliographic records;
- persistent links where possible;
- other essential publication information.
L. TEMPORARY WEBSITE INTERRUPTION
In the event of temporary website interruption, server failure, maintenance, or other technical problems, the publisher will seek to restore access to journal content from available backup or preserved records. Temporary technical unavailability does not change the publication status of formally published articles.
M. JOURNAL DISCONTINUATION
If JSDA ceases active publication in the future, reasonable efforts will be made to preserve previously published articles and their bibliographic records through the publisher's archive, institutional storage, repositories, or other appropriate preservation mechanisms. The discontinuation of new publication activity should not result in unnecessary loss of previously published scholarship.
N. ARCHIVING OF CORRECTIONS AND RETRACTIONS
Corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, and other post-publication notices form part of the scholarly record and should be preserved alongside the related article. Where technically possible, the journal will maintain clear links between the original publication and subsequent notices or amendments.
O. PERSISTENT IDENTIFICATION
Where persistent identifiers are assigned to JSDA content, the journal will seek to maintain accurate and updated metadata associated with those identifiers. Persistent identification supports reliable citation, linking, discovery, and long-term access to scholarly publications.
P. PRESERVATION RESPONSIBILITIES
| Journal and Publisher
Maintain publication records, digital infrastructure, backups, metadata, and reasonable preservation procedures. |
Authors
May support preservation through responsible self-archiving and maintenance of accurate scholarly records. |
Q. ARCHIVING AND OPEN ACCESS
Digital preservation complements the journal's Open Access Policy by supporting continued availability of published research. Archiving helps ensure that statistical, computational, and data-driven research published by JSDA remains available for future researchers, students, institutions, and scholarly communities.
R. POLICY DEVELOPMENT
JSDA may periodically update its preservation arrangements as new archiving technologies, repository systems, digital preservation services, or publishing standards become available. Specific preservation partnerships will be added to this page when they are formally implemented.
JSDA does not claim participation in a specific external digital preservation service unless such participation has been formally activated and verified. When the journal becomes an active participant in services such as institutional preservation networks, national repositories, or international preservation systems, the verified information will be published on this page.
Preserving Statistical Knowledge for the Future
Journal of Statistics and Data Analytics is committed to maintaining the continuity, accessibility, and integrity of its scholarly record. Through digital preservation, metadata maintenance, backup procedures, responsible self-archiving, and future integration with appropriate preservation systems, JSDA seeks to ensure that published research remains available for future generations of researchers and practitioners.
