- A4 paper size.
- Single-spaced text.
- Use a standard academic font and font size as specified in the official template.
- Use italics rather than underlining, except for web addresses where appropriate.
- Tables and figures should be placed within the manuscript near the first relevant discussion rather than collected at the end of the document.
- Page numbers should be included where required by the journal template.
D. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE
For original research articles, manuscripts should generally be organized in the following order:
- Title
- Author Information
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Research Method
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments, where applicable
- Author Contributions, where applicable
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- Funding Statement, where applicable
- References
Review articles, conceptual papers, policy studies, and other manuscript types may use a structure appropriate to the nature of the study, provided that the organization is logical and clearly presented.
E. TITLE AND AUTHOR INFORMATION
The manuscript title should be specific, concise, informative, and representative of the main content of the research. Author names should be written without academic titles or professional degrees. The complete affiliations, institutional addresses, ORCID identifiers where available, and the e-mail address of the corresponding author should be entered accurately in the OJS metadata.
F. ABSTRACT
The abstract should normally contain approximately 150–250 words and should provide a concise overview of the study.
The abstract should clearly indicate:
- background or research problem;
- research objective;
- method or research approach;
- principal findings;
- main conclusion or scholarly contribution.
All manuscripts should provide an English abstract. For manuscripts written in Indonesian, authors are encouraged to provide both Indonesian and English abstracts. The abstract should not contain unnecessary citations, tables, figures, or undefined abbreviations.
G. KEYWORDS
Authors should provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the main concepts, variables, population, context, or field of the manuscript. Keywords should facilitate indexing and discoverability and should generally avoid unnecessarily repeating the words already used in the article title.
H. INTRODUCTION
The Introduction should establish the scientific and practical context of the study and clearly explain why the research is important.
- background of the problem;
- relevant theoretical or conceptual framework;
- critical synthesis of relevant previous studies;
- identification of the research gap;
- novelty or contribution of the study;
- research objective, question, or hypothesis.
The Introduction should not merely present a long collection of previous studies. Authors should critically synthesize the literature and demonstrate how the present study extends, challenges, or complements existing knowledge.
I. RESEARCH METHOD
The Research Method section must contain sufficient information to enable readers to understand how the study was conducted and to evaluate the reliability and validity of the research process.
- research design or approach;
- research setting and context;
- population, participants, or research subjects;
- sample size and sampling technique;
- data sources;
- research instruments;
- validity, reliability, credibility, or trustworthiness procedures;
- data collection procedures;
- data analysis techniques;
- ethical approval and informed consent, where applicable.
Qualitative studies should clearly describe the research context, participant selection, data collection, analytical process, and procedures used to establish trustworthiness. Quantitative studies should describe the study design, variables, instruments, sampling procedures, statistical analyses, and relevant validity and reliability information. Mixed-methods studies should explain both components and how the data were integrated.
J. RESULTS
The Results section should present the principal findings clearly, systematically, and objectively. Tables, figures, quotations, statistics, themes, categories, or other forms of evidence may be used when appropriate. Authors should avoid unnecessary duplication of identical information in both the text and tables. Results should directly address the research objectives, questions, or hypotheses.
K. DISCUSSION
The Discussion should go beyond repeating the findings. Authors are expected to interpret, explain, and contextualize the significance of the results.
- explain what the findings mean;
- discuss why the findings may have occurred;
- compare the results with relevant previous studies;
- explain agreements or differences with previous research;
- relate the findings to relevant theory;
- identify the academic contribution of the study;
- discuss educational, social, practical, or policy implications where appropriate;
- acknowledge relevant limitations.
L. CONCLUSION
The Conclusion should provide a concise synthesis of the major findings in relation to the research objectives. It should highlight the principal contribution of the study and, where relevant, explain its educational, social, theoretical, practical, or policy implications. The conclusion should not merely repeat the Results and Discussion and should not introduce substantial new data that have not previously been presented. Recommendations for future research may be included when supported by the findings.
M. TABLES, FIGURES, AND OTHER ILLUSTRATIONS
- Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively.
- Each table and figure must have a clear and informative caption.
- Tables and figures should be cited in the manuscript text.

O. RESEARCH ETHICS
Research involving human participants must comply with relevant ethical principles and institutional or national requirements. Where applicable, authors should describe ethical approval, informed consent, confidentiality procedures, and protection of participant privacy. Studies involving children, students, vulnerable populations, or sensitive educational and social data require particular attention to informed consent, assent, confidentiality, and participant protection.
P. ORIGINALITY AND PLAGIARISM
All submitted manuscripts are subject to originality and similarity screening. Authors must ensure that ideas, data, text, figures, and other materials taken from other sources are properly cited. Plagiarism, inappropriate paraphrasing, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and unauthorized reuse of previously published material are unacceptable. Similarity reports are evaluated in accordance with the journal's Similarity Check Policy and are not assessed solely on the basis of an overall percentage.
Q. AUTHORSHIP AND CONTRIBUTORSHIP
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript. All listed authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all appropriate contributors are included and that individuals who do not meet authorship criteria are not listed as authors.
R. USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS
Artificial intelligence tools may be used responsibly to support manuscript preparation, language improvement, data analysis, or other legitimate research activities. However, AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, references, analysis, interpretation, and final content of the manuscript. Substantive use of generative AI should be disclosed in accordance with the journal's AI Tools Usage Policy. Authors must not use AI tools to fabricate data, citations, references, participants, results, images, or other research evidence.
S. PREPARATION FOR DOUBLE-BLIND PEER REVIEW
Dialogue applies a double-blind peer-review process. To preserve anonymity, authors should ensure that the manuscript file submitted for review does not disclose information that unnecessarily identifies the authors.
- Author names should be removed from the anonymized manuscript, where required by the submission workflow.
- Institutional information that directly identifies the authors should be anonymized when necessary.
- Self-citations should be written neutrally and should not reveal author identity.

Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope, contain serious methodological deficiencies, do not comply with publication ethics, or substantially fail to follow the Author Guidelines may be returned for correction or declined without external peer review.
V. PEER REVIEW AND REVISION
Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening will normally be evaluated through double-blind peer review by independent reviewers. Authors receiving a revision decision should carefully address all reviewer and editor comments. A revised manuscript should be accompanied, where requested, by a point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed or providing a reasoned response when a suggestion has not been adopted. The final publication decision rests with the responsible Editor or Editor in Chief.
Submission of a manuscript to Dialogue: Educational and Social Perspectives indicates that the authors have read and agreed to comply with the journal's Author Guidelines, Publication Ethics, Peer Review Process, Similarity Check Policy, Copyright and License Policy, and other applicable editorial policies. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the manuscript being returned for correction or declined during initial screening.
