This study aims to provide an in-depth description of the conditions and barriers affecting the primary education of fishermen's children in Jorong Pasa Lamo and Jorong Pondok, Nagari Ranah Pasisie. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results indicate that the education of fishermen's children is in a vulnerable state, characterized by irregular school attendance, high levels of child involvement in fishing activities, unstable household incomes, limited infrastructure and geographic accessibility, and cultural perceptions that treat education as a secondary priority. Government assistance programs have failed to address the root causes, as they do not alter economic dependency or the lack of academic support at home. These findings confirm that educational inequality among fishermen's children is multidimensional, driven simultaneously by economic, ecological, socio-cultural, and institutional factors within the coastal region.
